Still a lot of things that I would like to fix with timing, and follow through, as well as a few acting subtleties, but it came out pretty neat! Some people were interested to see my work flow in producing a piece like this (who are not animators), so I thought it might be neat to roughly break down the process!

Rather than just posting it and not explaining it to the non-animator geeks out there, this is a work in progress blocking of a character sequence. Reference footage has been used to sample rough ideas of gestures that might be useful. It really is just a sequence of important poses within the sequence. Of course, to make it more appealing, poses are exaggerated and anticipations as well as accents are added to give it more kick.This is a first blocking, which will be followed by a series of animation passes to fill in all the motion between.

I loved this movie a lot. A great Dr.Suess story of an elephant(horton) who finds an endangered world on a speck of dust. Blue sky has been popping out poop in the past , but this film had an amazing visual quality that made it unique. One noteable feature of the style is the amazing fur treatment on a large quantity of the characters. All the materials look so real and lickable, making every object a treat to enjoy.
