I was planning to see it just because his suit looked so damn freaking slick- and not care about how plot driven it was. I was totally in for a pleasant surprise! Robert Downey Jr was an excellent lead, bringing a humorous, but slick flavour to ‘Ironman’’s personality.
It was so full of grunt, slick cg, and fun fighting. I loved that the Middle Eastern guys were automagically made the bad guys, and there was none of that metaphorical tosh mixed in. I don’t even feel the need to pick it apart; it was a film made to be entertaining, and not meaningful or touching. It’s just a rich genius who builds a sweet suit, blows shit up, and saves the day. Totally worth a second or third helping.

This movie kinda sucked a bunch. A fight movie with two Jocks fighting for glory or some other worthless cause? Yeah right.. I didn’t really get what the protagonist’s motivation was. He was super bummed that he let his drunk daddy crash a car, so how he likes to beat guys up to let his rage out?
Some other karate jock invites him over to a party to brawl, and he gets his ass beaten. The whole story is him training to seek revenge on the jerk. It was seriously so shallow I don’t even have that much to say about it. The slow motion punches with face distortion was sweet in vfx, but hardly cutting edge. Nothing was great.
Lame, lame lame. I wish I could see something that doesn’t suck lately, so I could be over-hyped and excited at it again.

I wanted to see this because Owen Wilson is in it - obviously before his mental breakdown. I don’t know if I liked it a bit, or a bit more than a little bit, but I didn’t love it. It was obviously using the SuperBad formula; take a fat kid who thinks he is awesome, a small skinny nerd kid, and dump them into the big bad world. They hire a personal bodyguard to stop their asses being pounded, but find out he’s a double-crossing hobo. I guess they couldn’t do much and keep it within the PG rating range, but it did well for what it was. It was noticeable that Owen Wilson wasn’t as funny as he could be, and that the kids were terrible actors. Good kids popcorn movie, but don’t expect anything great from it.

I loved this movie a lot. A great Dr.Suess story of an elephant(horton) who finds an endangered world on a speck of dust. Blue sky has been popping out poop in the past , but this film had an amazing visual quality that made it unique. One noteable feature of the style is the amazing fur treatment on a large quantity of the characters. All the materials look so real and lickable, making every object a treat to enjoy.
