Big software updates
Both Firefox 3 and Skype beta 4 (for windows) slammed out some much anticipated software revisions. This is super good timing after wrapping up on Bearskin today, as well as the university semester (Means some sweet time to mess around with all the new features!). Firefox 3 is so much sleeker and cleaner than 2.5. I think some of the coolest features are all the things that happen in the background, whether it is the new suped up awesome address bar, or the integrated download notification system, or even the friendly seamless integration across different OSes.
Skype has a whole new look too. It was a bit of a jerk lately, and the new version seems to be a lot more stable slimmed down than 3. The new interface is beautiful, and feels so functional with everything in easy reach. The call quality somehow seems better which probably Means less disconnections in the middle of conversations with loved ones and geeks (or both! :P). Still need to look into the bandwidth hogging issue (which usually causes throttling at the end of the month), but it is a great refreshing update to an already brilliant application.
What do you geeks think of the new updates? Yell now.

I was hesitant to get F3… but I like it a lot now (I think).
I’ve been running the FF3 betas for months, the final is pretty much identical to the last release candidate. I keep using Firefox because of a couple small features that Safari doesn’t have, otherwise I’d switch. I don’t think it’s nearly the powerhouse it used to be.
In America we have “telephones” so we don’t need skype.
Jenkins…thats funny…Also in America BTW, Skype has many users
I dispute the claim that I’m a geek.
For some reason I just can’t get into using Firefox on Mac… not even FF3. It just feels clunky. It’s Safari or nothing for me!
@Ben — agreed. i am a hardcore Safari user, but every once in a while Safari will act like a giant jerk and i’ll have to open up FF for a bit.
As for Skype, I maaay use it a whole bunch. I’m not sure why ( ;
I too disliked FF3 , but now I am loving how slick and nice it is.
Skype beta got un-installed last night. The panes don’t minimise how I’d like them to, and you can’t have txt and video in separate windows. It looks gorgeous, but it has so many teeny tiny annoyances which you will pick up after using it for a little while
I’ll upgrade it once it’s stable..
