Indiana Jones (sucked.)
Oh Jesus. (sorry religious types, but it deserves a vain call). “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. Even the name sucks now that I think about it. What was George Lucas, and Spielberg thinking? They certainly kept the retro 40-60s thing happening, but that’s all that could be considered consistently good. After ILM cranked out Transformers and Ironman, I would have thought that they would be able to wrangle sweet compositing work in their sleep for this film. It was terrible. I think it is first technically obvious during the stupid jeep jungle chase scene. The chroma plate looked so rough, that the background bled into the actors a ridiculous amount. VFX should work seamlessly in film to complement and suspend an audience’s disbelief - instead of being painfully obvious.
Don’t even get me started on the plot. Indi Jr chasing speeding jeeps through the dense amazonian jungle with monkeys on vines? I also expected Harrison Ford’s old man bones to snap in so many places. I think the most amazing feat was that the old dork didn’t crush his femur sitting down.
All the gooey marriage storybeats were so unecessary for the movie, giving it such a bad fuzzy feeling. I don’t mean a nice warm and fuzzy, but the fuzz you get on your teeth from not brushing after a night of drinking. Nobody really got hurt, or was in real danger - and at the end of it there was just a bunch of dead aliens hanging out in a ziggurat. Not even exciting. The sound track was cool, but everything else is a super let down.
The new Dark Knight trailer screened in front of the movie; which has got me super excited. I know that won’t be a let down after seeing that bank heist clip months and months ago!
By the way, if anyone actually wants to see the Sex and the City movie, get in line for a punch to the groin.

I haven’t heard a single person say they liked it. I’m not even going to go see it now. I honestly wasn’t even a fan of the originals to tell you the truth.
i’d monkey punch George Lucas if i could. whomp!
@ck I wanted to see it because of ILM’s work on it- after seeing Ironman and Transformers; I expected a nice look. Too bad it wasn’t great
@ Lisa let’s lemur punch him
No donkey punching?
I actually quite liked the film. Me and susie watched the first three and then went to see it and it kept the similar style of fun that the other three had.
